About Me

“Katharine is incredible in every way. She taught me there is no right or wrong way to birth. The right way is whatever the right choice is for your individual self. It’s about achieving your best birth, may that be w/ or w/o an epidural, home or hospital, or anything between. Your doula should embrace your choices and help you achieve the best version of it. The right birth is an empowered birth. That’s exactly what Katharine did for us.” -SK

A woman who serves.

A specially trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing person before, during and just after birth.

I’m Katharine Deeb, CD(CHB) birth doula in West Los Angeles. I am the mother of two grown sons and I am grateful to have experienced two unmedicated hospital births, thanks to the help of amazing caregivers (and genetics). I chose to become a birth doula based on my love of babies and women and the miracle of the birthing process. It’s an amazing gift to witness women giving birth to their babies…and to themselves as mothers.

I believe that women are their own best experts and have instinctual knowledge of their babies and their bodies. Birth is the most intimate, personal experience a person can go through, and no two births are exactly alike. Regardless of my own personal birth choices and experiences, I am very open minded when it comes to yours. I will never push an agenda with you. I will support you and your choice of birth at the hospital, birthing center, at home or in some cases, the operating room. Over the years I have attended homebirths, VBACs, unplanned surgical births, unmedicated hospital births, waterbirths, scheduled cesarean births, medicalized births, epidural births and inductions. My hope for you and your family is a positive, empowering birth experience and a smooth transition into parenting, and that’s what I strive to help you to accomplish. I would be truly honored to be a part of your sacred experience.
